Meditation is well known scientifically for promoting better sleep, reduction in anxiety and stress, lowering blood pressure, reducing memory loss and control of pain amongst many other benefits.  This course is in 12 sessions over 6 weeks with one session each week in Studio on Monday evenings and one session via Zoom each week. You will experience options for sitting, meditations becoming gradually longer over course duration and various meditation techniques to help you create a practise which is authentic, personal and with scope for more depth.

You will be emailed summaries, videos of each session for further practise and links to deeper reading material. 6 Week Meditation Course, Mondays 7.30 – 8.30pm,  21st February to 28th March 2022

Course will take place both In Studio and Online (Zoom)

Meditation takes us on a journey within ourselves, revealing our inherent potential. The inner peace and harmony revealed by meditation transforms the life of both us and all we come in contact with. Meditation is well known scientifically for promoting better sleep, reduction in anxiety and stress, lowering blood pressure, reducing memory loss and control of pain, and many other benefits.
By gently guiding awareness inward and calming the mind we learn about our inner environment (mind, intellect and ego) and how it influences our perception of the world. This insight allows us to cultivate our mind and guide it to focus on the object of meditation, improving concentration and revealing our innate inner peace and happiness.

 

This meditation course is 12 sessions over 6 weeks with one session on a Monday night in Studio and a second session via Zoom (tba depending on time to suit attendees). This course is an introduction to various meditation techniques. It enables each student to create a meditation practice that suits their own life context, covering all the basics from sitting positions and breathing practices (pranayama), to the Self Inquiry, breath focus and Chakra meditation techniques. The course is presented in a fun, down to earth manner using practical examples, questions and discussions during the weekly sessions.  Your guide, Swami Jasraj Puri is a senior yoga teacher who has been teaching Yoga since 1995. He spent 20 years living in an Ashram in India, studying and teaching yoga and yoga philosophy. Swami Jasraj Puri has managed the Yoga in Daily Life ashram in Rajasthan which includes a school for 1500 pupils, a hospital, an animal shelter and a research centre.

 

In 2010 he became the first western Swami to be awarded the title of Mahamandaleshwar (scholarly saint) of the Mahanirvani Akhara, the highest title of the Haridwar Kumbh Mela order of monks. He is friendly and approachable and is keen to answer your questions and discuss your experiences.
