Saturday mornings 24th February to 23rd March 2024

The course is run for a small group (up to 7 participants) on Saturdays 8am – 9.30am. Perfect for absolute beginners or those returning after a few years – or simply a refresher of the basics. We cover simple postures, breathing techniques, philosophy, relaxation and how to use props to get the most out of your practise. Course cost covers One session per week (Saturday mornings) plus free 4 week pass to all CY timetabled classes Mon-Thurs and Sunday mornings for the Course duration.

This course is designed for complete beginners as well as returning students who would like to explore the benefits & basics of Yoga in a supported, small group setting. Each participant will receive handouts, individual attention throughout the lessons and the opportunity to ask questions to deepen understanding.

Yoga is a scientifically proven system for improving health, building strength, developing flexibility and cultivating a deep sense of calm and inner peace.  There is no age limit for practicing Yoga and it is never too late to start.

This course provides the foundation skills and confidence to maximise the benefits you will get from attending general yoga classes.  We examine in detail how to correctly perform the most common yoga poses (asanas) and breathing techniques (pranayama).  We provide an introduction to meditation, deep relaxation (restorative yoga and yoga nidra) and the philosophy of Yoga.  And we provide guidance in how and when to use supporting equipment.

Each week builds upon what you have learnt in the previous week.  To help support your journey, we provide unlimited free access to general yoga classes throughout the  duration of the course.  All equipment use, including yoga mats, props and handouts, is provided free of any additional charge.

Sarah Mills, Centenary Yoga’s principal Yoga teacher, is a professional teacher by trade with post-graduate teaching qualifications and over 20 years teaching experience.

  1. Fundamental/beginners courses tend to book out early so book in now. If circumstances change you can postpone your course until the next round.
